Construction activity has certainly picked up over the spring and summer and people are buying houses once again. When we first started building at the Lake of the Woods (Locust Grove/Orange County) back in 2013, only a couple of houses were under construction. Many builders were waiting to see how the economy was going to play out. Today, it is a different story; we're building houses to our specifications (spec) and pre-ordering materials, cabinets, flooring, light fixtures so we can have a house available for a buyer who is ready now. Other builders are pre-selling their product and then building the home with a customer color selection sheet and any changes to the plan they wish to make. We've had good success attracting clients to our product and we will continue to build "spec" homes and work with customers that have the time to devote to a custom product.
522 Monticello Circle - sold
We're delighted to have sold the Roswell (Elevation B) on Monticello Circle (view this project). It truly is a beautiful home, more of a traditional colonial elevation with brick columns and ornamental front rail. The homeowners requested that I work with them to finish out the basement and that should be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks. We've added a bedroom, full bath with shower, double vanity, linen closet and a huge rec room, separated from a storage area with a pocket door. Looks can be deceiving as this home will now have 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths and over 4000 square feet of living space. Next up, we're talking about a deck and patio for the backyard. This home will be a signature property for Butcherson and Associates - the lot is approx. 18,000 square feet of quiet solitude, a park-like setting that is enhanced by this home.
109 Harrison Circle - under contract
Another Roswell is under construction on Harrison Circle, this time the elevation is influenced by the Craftsman style. Board and Batten siding in the gables, with a contrasting color for the body of the house, top sashes of the windows with grilles or dividers, a two panel front door with full sidelights and transom, and a stone front foundation and porch. The columns will be trimmed simply to reflect this style with a white rail to enclose the front porch. This home is minutes away from Ramsay Beach, which has ample parking, grill areas, picnic table and a sandy beach. Sound good? We just went under contract and are on schedule to deliver this home in late-October (view this listing).
124 Washington Street - undeveloped lot, available
Good news: we've purchased a lot on Washington Street that we plan to get started on this Fall. As of this post, we're still in the planning process for the design we'll be building. Check back often for the updates or get in contact with me if you would like to build on this lot, your design or ours.

Our recent homes on Fairway Drive are looking great (The Roswell -Elevation A and The Brookhollow) -- hard to believe that those homes were delivered almost 18 months and 1 year ago, respectively.
